Working for Equality Cinema: Made In Dagenham

Almost 50 years to the day since the landmark sewing machinist's strike at the Ford plant in Dagenham which inspired the Equal Pay Act watch the film of their story, plus archive footage and interviews.

6.00pm Made In Dagenham (2010) Starring Sally Hawkins, Jaime Winstone, Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson. "Rousing and entertaining... it should strike a rich seam of rewards from audiences everywhere." 

8.00pm Women's Stories of Ford Dagenham (2017) 30 min documentary using interviews and personal photographs to tell the real story of the strike in 1968 and the forgotten strike of 1984 which brought victory. Created as part of a Heritage Lottery Funded project by Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch.

The film will be shown in the conference room on the first floor of the Learning Centre, there is wheelchair access via a lift.

Barking station is on the Overground, Hammersmith & City, and District lines, as well as c2c rail from Fenchurch Street.
