East End Women’s Museum x Modern Cockney Festival

Date: Saturday 23 March 2024

Time: 12-5pm

Set up: 11:20-11:45

Take down: by 5:30pm

Location: Hason Raja Centre, 117 Vallance Rd, London E1

Transport links: Whitechapel Tube (7 mins) Bethnal Green Overground (5 mins)

Applicants

Applications are open to women, women identifying and non binary people aged 18+. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants:

  • connected to cockney culture

  • from a working class background 

  • living, working or otherwise connected with the East End of London

  • who showcase women’s histories

  • that champion intersectional feminism in their work

The Stalls

We are open but not limited to including all kinds of creatives who may be interested in selling and showcasing:

  • art prints, posters & greeting cards

  • zines & magazines

  • badges, pins & jewellery

  • handmade soaps and candles

  • ceramics and other small home accessories

  • embroidered, crochet or knitted items

  • whatever else you might have going on that we haven’t thought to list above!

We are also welcoming:

  • food and drink vendors (must have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, please attach this to your application

  • information/awareness stalls from organisations whose values align with that of The East End Women’s Museum.

  • Suggestions from the community! Perhaps you would like to perform a song, read a poem or something else? If so, you are also welcome to apply!

We will provide

Each vendor will get one table (70x120cm) and one chair. Please let us know in your application if you require more than one chair. 

The Venue has WiFi however there will be limited access to electricity/sockets so please make sure you have everything you might need for the day fully charged and an energy bank spare.

Access & Comfort

  • The entrance to the venue is on the ground floor. 

  • There is no parking on site however there is regular on-street parking around the area.

  • For those who may be observing Ramadan, clean and quiet prayer spaces will be set up. Please bring your own prayer mat.

Recommended Donations

We will be collecting donations ahead of this event to help support costs and fundraise for our museum. Donations are expected from stall holders only:

Minimum donation: £10

Recommended donation: £20

Solidarity: £30+
